R Chandru Goes for 'Charminar'..

The talented director with success hits like ‘Taj Mahal, Mylari and Ko Ko Koli Kothi’ R Chandru is gearing up for his next film ‘Charminar’ for direction. ‘Char Minar’ – Four towers called as ‘Charminar’ was built in 1591 AD by Kutb Shahi Dynasty landmark monument located in Hyderabad.

At the 50th day of ‘Ko Ko Koli Kothi’ the new film announcement from R Chandru has come. ‘Charminar’…Nalku Kambanigala Kahani is a love story mixed with tragedy in it. He has a caption for ‘Charminar’….’Bengaluru to Hyderabad …A great love story. This is a true love story according to Chandru. This will be a musical love story with well known stars in the film. The final agreement has not yet been reached so I am not able to confirm the actors say Chandru.

A new music director will be introduced for this ‘Charminar’ says R Chandru. As we all know ‘Charminar’ is a historic place. R Chandru drives from Sandalwood to Charminar for his film. He has not gone for ‘Taj Mahal’ for his first film to ‘Taj Mahal’ in Agra.

The fate has changed for better to this lovely star Premkumar. In the dark after completing ‘Shatru’ his first action cinema with six pack abs and sounding like another ‘Singham’ Premkumar has two prime projects on hand.

The actor backtracks his decision to get an action hero image and is playing lover boy again


Prem, who was hitherto trying to break his lover boy tag with two action-packed films, Shatru and Kettavanu, is now back to doing what he does best — play lover boy. The actor has bagged Charminar, a love story which will be directed by R Chandru. Sources say that the director was initially trying to rope in Ganesh, Ajay or Kitty for the lead role, but eventually settled for Prem. “Probably, I’m the loveliest of all Kannada heroes,” chuckles Prem.On a serious note, the actor adds, “Though I have moved on from the Lovely Star image with Shatru, Chandru still considers me as a lover boy. I’m thrilled to be a part of the film.”
So, why the title Charminar? “The movie has got nothing to do with the monument in Hyderabad. Charminar means four pillars. It has an impressive storyline, which has been kept under wraps,” says Prem, who also has the Roopa Iyer-directorial love story Chandra in his kitty.

Jo t h e Jotheyalli was mired in controversy, Dhan Dhana Dan did not set the cash registers ringing. His last film, Mathe Banni Preethsona, too was a flop, despite the fact that it was released twice. So, how did he manage to get hold of these projects? “Mathe Banni Preethsona was not a flop. If it was, the makers would not have released it twice. A film’s success doesn’t depend on the number of days it runs in theatres. In fact, my performance in the film was appreciated and that matters a lot to me,” he asserts.
These days, Prem is busy with the dubbing for Charminar. “This is an advance birthday (April 18) gift for me,” says Prem. He is also gearing up for Chandra. “Roopa’s last film, Mukha Puta, gave her international recognition and fetched her accolades. She is a sensible director and I was impressed by her story narration. I’m looking forward to working with her,” says the actor, who is learning kalaripayattu, for the film.

Meghana Gaonkar is Prem’s heroine!



Director Taj Mahal Chandru has finally found a heroine for his latest directorial venture Charminar. Actress Meghana Gaonkar who has acted in films like Nam Areal Ondina (2010), Vinayaka Geleyara Balaga (2011), and Tughlaq (2012) has been selected to play the female lead.

There were a lot of speculations about the main cast of Chandru’s new flick. After much dillydallying, he selected Prem though actors like Kitty, Ganesh and Ajay were considered for the role. Despite the director not disclosing the name of the actresses being considered, rumours were doing the rounds that Radhika Pandith and others were being considered for the role.

But to everyone’s surprise the director has chosen small time actress Meghana Gaonkar. Chandru who has seen a couple of Meghana’s films, said that he was impressed by her acting skills and believed that she would fit the bill.

With the selection of hero and heroine now complete, Chandru is busy finalising the other artistes and technicians and is likely to start filming by April 30.

Producers of Siddeshwara Enterprises S Manjunath and K Shivakumar expressed happiness at the statement of lovely star Premkumar that the film will not be a loss at any cost. It is a 40 to 45 days schedule for the producers.

ಇದಕ್ಕೇನು ಕಾರಣ? ಬಜೆಟ್ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಯ್ತು, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ತಲೆ ಬಿಸಿಯಾಯ್ತು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದ್ರು!

ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಗೆಳೆಯನೇ ಆಗಿರುವ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಬಾಕಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಚಂದ್ರು ತೀರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಹಣ ಚಂದ್ರು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿತ್ತೇ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಬೇಡಿ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವುದು ಫೈನಾನ್ಶಿಯರುಗಳನ್ನು. ಗೆದ್ದರೆ ಬಂಪರ್, ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಪಾಪರ್ ಎಂದು ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಧುಮುಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಲವ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವ 'ಚಾರ್‌ಮಿನಾರ್'ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೇಘನಾ ಗಾಂವ್ಕರ್ ನಾಯಕಿ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 32 ದಿನಗಳ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಎರಡನೇ ಹಂತ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಒಂದು ಕಾಲವಿತ್ತು, ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹಲವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ರಮ್ಯಾರಂತಹ ನಾಯಕಿಯೇ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಕಿರಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ ಎಂದು ದೂರ ಸರಿದದ್ದಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೋ ಏನೋ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಚಂದ್ರು ಅವರಂತೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಪಟ್ಟೆ ಹೊಗಳಿ ಅಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೇರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದೆಲ್ಲ ಸರಿ, ಲವ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಏನಾಗಿದೆ? ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ, ಇದೇ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅತ್ತ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಚಿತ್ರ 'ಚಂದ್ರ'ದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರೂ ಬದಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೀಗ ಸಮರ್ಥ ವೆಂಚರ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಬಂದು ಕೂತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಹೀಗೆ.
