Prasad Returns Back As Rajanikantha Distributor

Share Broaker turned film distributor and financier Prasad who had earlier announced that he would be keeping off his activities in the film industry has now inevitably taken a step to be part of Duniya Vijay starrer "Rajanikantha' produced by K.Manju. Earlier Prasad had committed to release Upendra's "God Father' and "Vijay' "Rajanikantha' by paying a huge advance amount But after sustaining losses in his investments in the film industry,, Prasad had decided to withdraw from the "Rajanikantha' commitment and had demanded payment of his advance. But some how it looks that Prasad's request did not materialise and he had to take the responsibility of releasing "Rajanikantha' to recover dues.
Talking to Chitraloka Mega Portal, Prasad said that he will the releasing the film "Rajanikantha' on his own with the help of well known distributor K.C.N.Kumar. "The film will be releasing on March 1. We will be starting a huge publicity campaign of the film from Thursday. Already channels have been given materials like songs which have been telecasted regularly. Two trailers of the film will also be released shortly. I have asked the leading artists of the film along with director Pradeep Raj to promote the film well' said Prasad.
Prasad says that their prime focus now is to see that the film gets best of the theatres for screening and get good publicity boost before its release

The pre release media briefing of ‘Rajani Kantha’ at Solitaire Hotel turned out to be a caution from actor Vijay to the distributor Prasad who is returning back after a sabbatical. Prasad of Samarth Ventures announced his going away from Kannada cinema to his roots of stocks and share business but he was pulled again to the industry. He has announced comeback from ‘Rajani-Kantha’ Kannada cinema.

When Prasad announced the release of over 100 theatres to ‘Rajani Kantha’, actor Vijay in his address urged the distributor Prasad not to play with the future of actors like him in screening the film in maximum of theatres. The first week draw in maximum theatres would lead to deplorable situation in the second week at the theatres. This should not be the system felt Vijay. That also speaks on the strength of the actor. Instead of it go for a few theatres stated Vijay.

‘Rajani Kantha’ with Vijay in double role is set for release on 1st March 2013. Vijay for the first time is in double role. Rajani is mass and Kantha is class. One of the two roles is Harelip (Seelu Thuti). Director Pradeep Raj stated that for the name of the film we have to be very strong in the subject. Yesteryears heroine of ‘Nanna Shatry’ Rekha is in mother role in this film.

The investment of over Rs.25 lakhs on this film graphic has given satisfaction for producer of ‘Rajani-Kantha’ K Manju.

The lovely lass Aindrita Ray for the second time with Vijay in ‘Rajanikantha’ says the film carries all commercial values, Arjun Janya music director was also present at the media address.

With a title like ‘Rajani-Kantha’ we have to give a good story and screenplay filled film says director Pradeep Raj, with this film we have more than 125 theatres releases says distributor Prasad of Samarth Venture, No, please do not release in so many theatres – that is a wrong precedent declared action hero Vijay at the media briefing of the film on Saturday.

‘Dayavittu Hechchu theatres Beda’ – Nam Badukina Mele Hodibedi’ – this is the straight address of Dhuniya Vijay who plays double role for the first time to distributor Prasad.

On a lighter note Vijay chided Aindrita Ray as she looks like granddaughter of a road wise sweater seller in Majestic area. Again on serious note Vijay said for ‘Seelu Thuti’ role a class role he had to take opinion and for another role it is a mass mood role he said.

Kantha is mass and Rajani is Class stated director of the film Pradeep Raj and disclosed that Rekha of yesteryears who acted in Kannada cinema ‘Nanna Shatru’ is in mother role; the role of Bullet Prakash is totally different he pointed. This is a straight film and I am expecting a milestone response from this he added.

Producer K Manju disclosed for graphic work Rs.25 lakh was spent for this film. For ‘Silu Thuti’ role Vijay has taken 15 days to dub shows his interest and involvement. Manju in the end said Jai Hindi and Jai Kannada.

Distributor Prasad who kept away from Kannada cinema for the losses and his belief going wrong is back. His mother name is ‘Rajani’ and father name is ‘Kantha’ – that has made me to take up this film for distribution he pointed.

Actress Aindrita Ray informed that the film ‘Rajani-Kantha’ has all the ingredients of a commercial cinema. After Junglee I was asked to star with Vijay in quite a few films but roles were not appealing she pointed.

‘Rajani-Kantha’ is releasing on 1st March 2013 all over Karnataka. Arjun Janya has scored the music for the film.

India Glitz review

This Kannada film with the name of Tamil super star Rajanikanth as - Rajani-Kantha is well below average. The only new thing in the career of Dhuniya Vijay is the dubbing he has done to his harelip role. The dialogues not very clear to the ears and brings some sympathy. The role of Kantha is nothing new and over all film is a futile attempt.

The ill fated mother (Rekha) brings up Rajani, harelip deformity son and Kantha (both Dhuniya Vijay) working as school teacher. It is the mother sacrifice for Rajani that perturb Kantha in the family from young age. Kantha goes out of the way and he even falls in to the wrong company. Rajani is a class student and deforming not affect his progress in life.

It is such a coincidence that Rajani and Kantha both fall in love with Priya (Aindrita Ray). The fact is Priya loves only Kantha. Now in the second half it is Kantha sacrificing his lover for Rajani. As the reels pass and Kantha in wrong company plus Rajani further education leads to some other development.

Kantha working on a payment for don (Jasper) brother of Priya turns cruel in evacuating a land where the hapless mother and deformity (behaves abnormal) son are running a hotel. In this deal Kantha severely beats hapless youth. The abnormal youth later takes revenge but it is a mistaken identity. Rajani is killed and he happens to be good friend of abnormal youth (Bullet Prakash). Kantha uses his power in keeping away the gang for which he was working on a payment.

The role of Rajani and Bullet Prakash are well derived. Both the roles touch your heart. When the mother character explain that she never showed disparity and seen both the sons equally the character of Kantha repents.

For Dhuniya Vijay it is a different role of harelip affected. He has taken care in dubbing. After the operation of harelip (Seelu Thuti in Kannada) the voice box is back to normalcy in some cases. The basic need of Vijay fans is not taken care. This is more a tearjerker than action in cinema. It is not worth the price for Vijay fans.

Rekha as mother is quite OK. Aindrita Ray is fit for only song and dance. She does not have anything to prove her acting talent.

Arjun Janya has given one melodious duet and two other casually sung songs are loaded with music. R Giri cinematography is average. None of the frames remain in the memory.

Director Pradeep Raj has not made use of the strength of action hero Vijay like how he showed his inability in 'Mr 420' with golden star Ganesh.

Look for better entertainment.
