All Hail And Honor AR Rahman..


It was a felicitation to AR Rahman, a tribute to legendary Rahman by Shadows Team, there was full praise for the most humble AR Rahman in the cultural show packed ‘God Father’ audio release on Saturday night in two hours event.

Producer Munirathna Naidu, Ramesh Aravind, Hamsalekha, Dwarakish, Ambarish and Upendra hailed the legendary music director in their words. Hearing all in Kannada AR Rahman finally thanked Hamsalekha for such good words told on him.

Hamsalekha in the starting of his address took liberty in addressing Rahman as ‘Namma Dilip’. Senior maestro Ilayaraja united the south and north film music while Rahman has worked for the Indian and European music in several platforms. The notes in music (6 and he did not like while working with me is not found in most of his scorings in music. Hamsalekha wished many more success to the legendary music director Rahman.

The real God Father of this ‘God Father’ cinema is AR Rahman stated Upendra super star of Kannada cinema. Upendra is in three roles in the film.

After the live performance of songs by Vijayaprakash, Shwetha Mohan, Naresh Iyer (a beauty from this singer on mother song) the dignitaries Ambarish, Sumalatha, Hamsalekha, Upendra, Priyanka, Dr Jayamala, Soundaraya Jayamala, Dwarakish, producer K Manju lyricists Kalyan, Kaviraj, music director V Manohar, Prasad of Ashwini Media Network and others on the dais the melody king AR Rahman released the album of ‘Godfather’.

Noted producers Munirathna Naidu, Dwarakish, Hamsalekha, Ramesh Aravind and Ambarish spoke on this occasion. The tribute to AR Rahman from Shadows Team was well received.

Producer K Manju explained that the genius in film music AR Rahman without asking single paisa agreed to compose for the film...

The legendary music composer of international acclaim ‘Mozart of Madras’ AR Rahman has not given the complete fresh tunes for ‘God Father’ Kannada cinema. He has given only two new tunes and remaining five of the album are from his original composition of Tamil film ‘Vararalaru’. A few years ago AR Rahman tunes were used for ‘Sajani’ Kannada cinema it may be recalled.

The song Alapane Mellane Shuruvaithu Arambadalli Namma Thuntu Yavvana… Yee dina Sadaga Sambrama….sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar, Mariya Roshini, Vincent and Blaze written by K Kalyan and

Mama Mama Mama….Maya Kannadi Hididhu Manasa Kaddhavva…Sanchari Manasu Sangathi Aithavva…written by K Kalyan is sung by Nivas and Shwetha Mohan.

The other songs – Laali Lali Amma, Sarigama Sangamave… Deepavali…Nannedhe Shruthiyalli…, Neene Yee Kannaa…are from the original compositions the mixing of Kannada lyrics is made.

Finally Purchased GODFATHER Audio. An enjoyable album

Out of the 7 songs, 4 songs namely Aalapane Mellane, Yavva Yavva, Laali Laali Amma, & Oho Geleya are truely amazing. The remaining 3 songs are just average.

My most favorite are LAALI LAALI AMMA (Which is a truely heart touching mother centiment song ) and OHO GELEYA which is a seductive romantic number.

AALAPANE seems to be an introduction song of one of the three roles of Uppi.

And Yavva Yavva is a nice duet featuring Uppi and Soundarya with good lyrics and beats.

LAALI LAALI AMMA song is the best mother centiment song i am hearing after BEDUVENU VARAVANNU from Jogi :amen: And OHO GELEYA song's female singer CHINMAI has done a wonderful Job really. A very seductive romantic number and highly recommended for PADDE HUDUGARU like me :malin1: its a special romantic number which reminds me of AMBIKA AMBIKA song from KVSS

Here comes the most hyped album of KFI in recent times.. Maestro A R Rahman rendering music for first time (??? Not sure what was Sajani then) in Sandalwood.. Lets take a look at the songs... As said earlier, I listened all tracks from original movie Varalaru and then compared these.. sadly Maestro has composed ONLY ONE fresh tune for Godfather... Was there any necessity to bring him for this?

Aalaapane: This is the only fresh tune in the album. You can happily say that this is the original song composed by Rahman for a Kannada movie. Song starts nicely and the tune is good. The singer Abhaya sings "Shuruvaayithu" as "Shuruvaayathu" in the beginning which is odd to listen, but later he pronounces correctly. Otherwise good song from Maestro. You can feel the Rahman touch in the first song itself.. Nothing special about the lyrics from Kalyan.. I believe this will be the introduction song of Uppi along with Bhumika Chawla in guest appearance..

'ಕಠಾರಿವೀರ ಸುರಸುಂದರಾಂಗಿ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಂತರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ಅಭಿನಯದ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ರುಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ತ್ರಿಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಜಯಮಾಲಾ ಪುತ್ರಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ಯಾಂಡಲ್ ವುಡ್ ಗೆ ಎಂಟ್ರಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿಷಯ. ಕಾರಣ ಇದು ತಮಿಳಿನ 'ವರಲಾರು' ಚಿತ್ರದ ರೀಮೇಕ್. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಜಿತ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ ರೆಗ್ಯುಲರ್ ಪ್ಯಾರ್ಟನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೂ, ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಫುಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಕೊಡಬಹುದು. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ನಿರೂಪಣೆಯಿದೆ. ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ನಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದ ಮೇಲೂ ಗುನುಗುವಂತ ಹಾಡಿಲ್ಲವಾದರೂ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಕೇಳಲು ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆದರೆ ರೀರೆಕಾರ್ಡಿಂಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಶ್ರಮ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸೊಗಸಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೋ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಕೊರತೆ ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ; ಅದು ಉಪ್ಪಿಯ ಅಭಿನಯದಲ್ಲಾಗಿರಬಹುದು. (ಡ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಪಾತ್ರ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಉಳಿದೆರಡು ಪಾತ್ರ ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.)

ಎ.ಆರ್.ರೆಹಮಾನ್ ಸಂಗೀತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇನು ಧಮ್ ಇಲ್ಲ. "ಲಾಲಿ ಲಾಲಿ ಅಮ್ಮ..." ಹಾಡು ಪರ್ವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ರಾರಾಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಕೈಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಡೈಲಾಗ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಂಚ್ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಕಡೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಿರುವುದು ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಾ ಅಭಿನಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಮಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಭೂಮಿಕಾ ಚಾವ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ಹಾಡಿಗೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರಷ್ಟೆ. ಮೂರೂ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಕೊನೆಗೆ 'ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್' ಆಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುವ ಉಪ್ಪಿ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೂ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ !! ತಮಿಳಿನ 'ವರಲಾರು' ನೋಡಿರದವರು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಗಾಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಅನ್ನು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಲು ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಿಲ್ಲ.
