Re: Intersting facts about how movies/songs originated
Not sure if this is a repated post.
We all know Rajkumar started his career with 'Bedara Kanappa' in 1954. However he also acted in a small role in the movie 'Srinivasa Kalayana' prior to 1954. He was one of the saptharishi's. This was during the time when he was working in Subbayanaidu's company.
Raj went eagerly to watch the movie and before he realised his scene had come it was gone. He was terribly disappointed.
Source : As told by Rajkumar in the movie "Natasarvabhowma' , a collection of his interviews released after his 100th movie.

When Nagabharana first approached Dr. Shivaram Karanth to get the movie rights of 'Chigurida Kanasu' , Dr. Shivaram Karanth insisted that he would prepare the screenplay and did the same.
Guess what the screenplay turned out to be a 9 hour movie !!!!
Nagabharana had to drop the idea for a few years and was taken up later.

When Parvatamma Rajkumar was travelling in train in 70's, a woman beside her gave a novel to read.... And the novel was the base for the epic "Eradu Kanasu"
Also Nagarahavu and Bayaludari scripts were rejected by Parvatamma. Later we know what these films did...
During the premier of Nagarahavu, the writer of the novel Ta.Ra.Su was very upset with the movie and called it "Kerehavu"... Even Puttanna Kanagal was very depressed hearing this.. One week later... History was made and a star was born...

Rajnikanth was supposed to do the role of villain in Raj's Girikanye.. But when Rajni came to the sets, Thoogudeepa Sreenivas had bagged the role. Disappointed, Rajni went to Raj and cried.. Raj said " Dont worry! You have the talent... You will rise to such heights that one day I will come to your house for your callsheet"... That became true, when Rajkumar himself called Rajni to invite him to 100 days function of " Appu "

Year : 1955-56. Location : AVM studio. Movie 'Bhookailasa' was made simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu.
Rajkumar as Ravava in Kannada version and NTR as Ravana in Telugu.
It was a practise those days to first shoot Telugu version and then Kannada. On a particular day there were some delay in shoothing the Telugu version and it was decided to start with Kannada.
Rajkumar completed a shot as Ravana. This was being watched by NTR.
After the shot was completed NTR told the director - here on shoot the Kannada version first - Rajkumar is a great source of inspiration to me. This was the impact of Rajkumar on NTR

ZEE TV SA RE GA MA PA
For those of you who watched ydays episode there is nothing new in the article.
Yday we had two stars from the Kannada film music world on the show - Hamsaleka (maha guru) and Harikrishna (celebrity guest).
The way the two discussed some finer points of singing was very interesting.
Harikrishna was a mechanic before he joint Hamsalekha as a student.
Hamsalekha admitted that while he found it difficult to blend western music into Kannda film music Harkrishna has been able to do this very successfully.(eg Galipata title song).
Hamsalekha was all praise for this shishya.
Got to know that SPB sang the song "Geethanjali" from CBI Shankar in one take (it is a difficult song).
Hamsalekha also mentioned some interesting facts about how Ravichandran gets involved during orchestration and what instruments he wants for a dream song etc.
In one of the earlier shows Shivarajkumar mentioned that he wants to do a movie like Shankarabharaman with Hamsalekha. Hope this materialises.
