It’s not just a movie; it’s a festivity of freedom!

One cannot return watching this movie without feeling jubilant. Such a spark ignites our hearts while seeing the biopic of India’s first freedom fighter, the commander of Kittur forces, Kranthiveera Sangolli Raayanna.

It is a movie for ages. Never before, never again; perhaps one can call it a once in a life time movie as well. But midst all that, it still falls short of the tremendous bravery of Raayanna and his war against the British this movie brings in front of you. Every scene speaks volumes of commitment each one of the film team has given in making this movie a grand extravaganza.

The movie opens with the introduction from Kicchha Sudeep in his unique solid voice. Then the show of Raayanna begins with a powerful wresting sequence! From scene one till the end challenging Star Darshan displays a level of performance which even shocks the non-believer, he completely lives up to his title by giving his best in every facet. If anyone was supposed to do this role, then it has to be Darshan and Darshan only. In war scenes, he makes one wonder if he truly is a warrior in real life too, and in many ways he certainly is. Mere words cannot explain how marvelous he has performed in this movie; this is by far his most powerful performance without a doubt. Years of homework, practice and patience makes his acting to be rated on a whole new scale. He emerges as an actor reminding the yester years of his father Thoogudeepa Shrinivas, a master of historical roles.

As everybody know this is the biggest budget film ever made in Kannada film industry till date, and I don’t see anyone making a better one in the near future. The whole film takes you to an entirely new era, the era of freedom struggle, the era of sacrifice and the era of Raayanna and Rani Chennamma. Hats off to Producer Ananad Appugol for making this movie so lavishly and in such stark quality, he is one of the heroes of the film, his devotion towards Raayanna evident.

Jayaprada as Rani Chennamma; simple yet elegant, gentle yet powerful! Even though she picks up the role on a soft note, she manages to end it on a towering one. Her screen presence with Darshan gives goose bumps to the audience. She excels equally well in war sequences and delivers a fine performance.

One other person who deserves applause is none other than Umashri. I mean, does she even need to act? Powerful, sentimental, electrifying and out of the world, these are only few words to summon up her performance level. She plays the character of Raayanna’s mother, and goes toe to toe with Darshan for giving eminent performance and even wins!

“Heroine” Nikitha has nothing much do to in the movie. Her role is just a come and go with only one duet song, which is though melodious and richly shot feels wasn’t required at all.

The rest of the cast does their job fairly well with Shrinivas Murthy and Shashi Kumar standing out among them. Especially veteran actor Shrinivas Murthy who comes with bundles of experience in doing a historical film and rightly so, he plays his part to perfection. Shashi Kumar also merits a mention by bagging the fine role of Raayanna’s aid with very good screen presence.

Music by Yashovardhan is good but cannot be termed commendable. Except for a revolutionary track, the songs don’t have much importance in the movie.

Story and Screenplay by Keshavadithya is extra-ordinary. His years of hard work and pledge to the project have finally yielded marvelous results in making this film. He has also written the dialogues which is one of the best aspects of the movie. Thunderous dialogues of his delivered by Darshan are a treat to watch on the big screen.

Direction by Naganna is surprisingly splendid. Even though he is a commercial director, he does a glorious job in this historical biopic; Kudos to him for making this movie with very less room for errors.

Cinematography by Ramesh Babu rewinds the clock back to the actual years of Rani Chennamma and Raayanna. He adds to the never ending list of excellent performers and technical crew who has worked hard for his movie beyond their limits.

Background score by V.Harikrisha is once again top notch. He brings a very dominant feel to scenes with his amazing BGM. In war sequences, his efforts multiply a thousand fold.

No words to explain the action choreographed by Ravi Varma; be it in wresting scenes, war or guerilla warfare, Ravi Varma gives his all time best.

A film can never be perfect, but KVSR is clearly very near to it. It has its share of down side of course; the dubbing of British officers is annoying at places. Even the length of the movie could have been reduced by trimming over fifteen minutes or so. They could have completely etched the last song before climax.

Finally, this is a movie to be watched by anyone who has even little respect for his country and for the people who laid down their lives to make it free. The ending leaves your in tears, but it also makes you to raise your chest, hold you head high and say “I live in the land of Raayanna!”

It’s also not coincidence that his final words before getting hanged came true exactly how he said so. He was born on august 15th, the day our country got independence and he was hanged to death on January 26th, the day our country became a republic. It might have been the way this great warrior wanted it to be, and there was no way the dreams of this lion could have ended up without getting fulfilled.

For the people watching the film Kranti Veera Sangolli Raayanna nothing could have prevented their ardent desire to watch the film.

All because of Challenging Star Darshan, who was responsible for the grand opening of the film. There were a set of enthusiastic fans waiting from morning six o clock in front of theatres screening the film to get an opportunity to watch the film.

Davanagere, Shimoga, Dharwad, Bijapur, Hubli, Shimoga, Ranebennur, Haveri, Mangalore, Tumkur, Mysore and Bhadravathy had heaviest rains, but the collections in these times were all time record.

Story: A powerful tale, the story begins with Rani Channamma (jayaprada) who rules the Kittur kingdom. She has a subordinate Rayanna (darshan) who she treats like adopted son. Rayanna is known for all as man with power, respect and integrity. When the British demand tribute money, Channamma opposes and a battle happens. The Kittur queen wins but second time she is captured with foul methods. Rayanna escapes and becomes a guerilla warrior. He kills many British but Channamma is given false news that Rayanna is killed. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a historical storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was efficient. The dialogues were powerful, the script was strong and the screenplay was high quality. Background score was intense and songs were worthy. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well made while the art department was majestic. Full marks go to Darshan for portraying the role convincingly. Jayaprada was beautiful as ever but she could have put more energy. Nikitha sizzles in one song. Umasri was brilliant, Srinivasamurthy was standard, Shashikumar was good, Ramesh Bhat was regular. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The fact this belongs to one of Karnataka’s most highly revered freedom fighters brought in a lot of hype. And then there is always the Darshan factor. Making such projects is a very big challenge but this challenge was taken very efficiently. The first half went about with the layering of the story whereas the second half was quite powerful with heavy dialogues and motivating sequences. Overall, this is a film which must be watched purely for the historic value and the way it has been made. At the box office, this will succeed.

My thoughts Materialised - Darshan

For the resounding response from the audience and his fans for ‘KVSR’ challenging star Darshan is extremely happy and says he had five points in his mind to get clarification from the audience. That is the reason I went to theatre on the first show of this historical cinema. At the end of the show I had all the queries in my mind getting positive response. Darshan declined to mention all the five queries he had in his mind but the last one he had in his mind is that the audience should turn emotional. That has happened. Many of the audience collected tears for the climax.

Darshan was in excellent mood to speak to media persons on the third day of the film at Le Meredian Hotel. This film is equal to six films effort. Holding 40 plus kilograms weight of sword in the battle field was not that easy. The sword was specially made. Darshan recalling the toughness in work stated that the easy scenes were shot first and in the dubbing also I have taken easy scenes to come out well. After making of this film I thought I should keep away from such films for at least five years. Already I am asked for ‘Veera Madhakari’ and a book on the personality come to me to read. I am for final reading and not have patience to read the book he pointed.

One thing is very sure from this film ‘KVSR’ according to Darshan. A good product with love and affection is made and it is given full effort – there cannot be failure. For KVSR people came to theatres against rain. This is a good sign says Darshan. On the response wise also Darshan is quite happy because the phone calls were in plenty. The colleagues in the industry have appreciated the film is another reason to happiness of Darshan.

In December month Darshan is moving all over Karnataka like how he did for ‘Sarathi’ Kannada cinema and thanking people of Karnataka for their wonderful response to KVSR.

Kannada film Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna lives up to expectations, writes Srikanth Srinivasa.

After missing many dates and deadlines, this much-awaited historical biopic has got a befitting thunderous opening on Kannada Rajyotsava Day, today.

Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna directed by Naganna, which is also one of the costliest Kannada films ever made in the history for its grandeur and production values, has lived up to its expectation despite a few flaws.

Historical films require a different thinking in terms of creating the ambience and period so as to give it an authentic feel. There are some missing chinks in this film although the film carries a lot of vigour and energy in the form of performances from Darshan and Jayaprada.

The film is based on Rayanna's story who is the army chief of Kittur in Rani Chennamma's kingdom. The film starts with Chennamma raising a banner of revolt against the British as she refuses to pay tax to the British government. The British get slighted over Chennamma and they decide to attack Kittur with all their might. Rayanna awaits orders from his queen mother to attack but is forced to keep mum until the British launch an attack. The British get defeated in the battle that follows.

In a bid to avenge the defeat, the British plan another attack and by deceit they capture Kittur and Chennamma. The queen is taken in as a prisoner of war and thus Rayanna is also held. Soon after Rayanna is out, he begins to build his own army with all and sundry to recapture Kittur and reinstall Chennamma on the throne.

The British play a foul game in conveying to Chennamma that Rayanna is killed. Chennamma is unable to believe but the British provide her with a concocted proof. Chennamma breathes her last in the prison. Chennamma's death puts paid to Rayanna's struggle to build an army to fight the British. But his friends and erstwhile force him to change his mind.

The uprising against the British rule begins as Rayanna goes about destroying the British camps with his skill as a guerilla fighter. As usual the British devise a divide and rule policy in fixing Rayanna. What happens to Rayanna? Does he succeed in fighting the British? Does Rayanna giving a fitting reply to the British? This is revealed towards the end.

Darshan has delivered a power-packed performance from the word go. He has truly lived up to the role of a patriotic warrior who stirs the emotions of his villagers. Nikitha Thukral who plays Mallamma and Rayanna's love interest disappears after a song and dance sequence never to return in the second half. She is completely forgotten and her absence is not justified in any way.

Jayaprada delivers a forceful performance. Umashri shines in the role of Rayanna's mother. Shashi Kumar as Rayanna's trusted lieutenant has done well.

Yashovardhan's music is a let-down although the background score is good. Ramesh Babu's camera work is good especially in the war scenes. The war scenes have been shot well in Rajasthan [ Images ].

The climax is quite touching and it appeals to your patriotic motives. Though director Naganna could have done away with at least 25 -30 minutes of footage, it still manages to keep you engaged which is quite an achievement. There are a few flaws in documenting the period.

Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna is a must-see film for all. Rarely do historical films get made and this is a rare opportunity for people of this generation to watch such a movie.

'ಕ್ರಾಂತಿವೀರ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ' ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಅನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗಿನ ಹಿಟ್ ಯಾರೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು, ಬಾಕ್ಸಾಫೀಸ್ ಗಳಿಕೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ, ಸ್ಯಾಟಲೈಟ್‌ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಕಥೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಮಂದಿ ಕಾಳಸಂತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ಹಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಮುಂತಾದುವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಫುಲ್ ಡಿಟೇಲ್ಸ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ಓದಿ.

ಸ್ಯಾಟಲೈಟ್ ರೈಟ್ಸ್:

ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಕ್ರೇಜ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಏನೋ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ತುಂಬಾ ಮಾಮೂಲಿಯಾಗಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂದೇ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರು. ಅದೇ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮನರಂಜನೆ ವಾಹಿನಿಗಳು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಸ್ಯಾಟಲೈಟ್ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗೆ 3.5 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿಯನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಆಫರ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದವು. ಆದರೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು 5 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಬಯಸಿದ್ದರು. ಚಾನೆಲ್‌ಗಳು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಆನಂದ್ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಟಿವಿ ಚಾನೆಲ್‌ಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊತ್ತ ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಸ್ಯಾಟಲೈಟ್ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಗೆ ಗಾಳ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿವೆಯಂತೆ!

ಸಾರಥಿ ಗಳಿಕೆ ಮುರಿದ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ:

ದರ್ಶನ್ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸಾರಥಿ. ಆ ಚಿತ್ರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಿಟ್ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಗಾಂಧಿನಗರದ ಪಂಡಿತರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸಾರಥಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಗಳಿಕೆಯ ದಾಖಲೆ ರಾಯಣ್ಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿದೆ.

ತುಂಬಾ ಅಪರೂಪ:

ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳೆಂದರೆ ಜನ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರೂ ಬೈಯುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಫೇಸ್‌ಬುಕ್, ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲ ಸುದ್ದಿತಾಣಗಳ ಕಾಮೆಂಟ್ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಗುಳದ್ದೇ ಸುರಿಮಳೆ. ಚಿತ್ರ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಲ್ಲ, ರಿಮೇಕ್, ಕಳಪೆ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಎಂದೆಲ್ಲ ಮೂದಲಿಕೆ. ಆದರೆ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಅವೆಲ್ಲದರಿಂದ ಹೊರತಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರೂ ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಿದವರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ, ಸೂಪರ್, ಫೆಂಟಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್, ಅದ್ಭುತ!

ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್‌ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಹಾವಳಿ:

ಕಾಳಸಂತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವ ದಂಧೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರು ಈ ಪರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಿದು ಬಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್‌ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಮಾರುವ ಮಂದಿ ತಲೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ವರದಾನವಾಗಿದೆ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೂ ಇದರಿಂದ ಲಾಭ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೇ ಟಿಕೆಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೌಂಟರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರಿ, ಉಳಿದವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್‌ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಮಾರುವವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಶೇ.20ರಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಲಾಭ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದವರು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ವಿತರಕ ಎಚ್.ಡಿ. ಗಂಗರಾಜು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ:

ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ 130 ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಷ್ಟೇ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುವ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ, ಚಿತ್ರ ನೂರು ದಿನ ಓಡಬೇಕೆನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಥಿಯೇಟರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ವಿತರಕರು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೂ ಒತ್ತಾಯದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಈಗ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

15 ಕೋಟಿ ಕಿಸೆಗೆ:

ಇದು ಎಷ್ಟು ನಿಜ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ವಿತರಕ ಗಂಗರಾಜು ಅವರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸೋಮವಾರದವರೆಗಿನ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರ 15 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಗಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಒಂದು ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಗಮನವಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಿ:

ಚಿತ್ರ ಒಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು 130 ಥಿಯೇಟರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ. ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಅಂದಾಜು ಸರಾಸರಿ ದರ 50 ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿದರೆ, ಒಂದು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ 500 ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರು ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಒಂದು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಒಟ್ಟು ಗಳಿಕೆ 25,000 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳು. ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಗಳಿಕೆ 1 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂಪಾಯಿ. ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳಿಗೆ 4 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂಪಾಯಿ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ 130 ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಒಟ್ಟು ಮೊತ್ತ 5.20 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳು.

ಬಿಡಿ, ವಿತರಕರು ಹೇಳಿದನ್ನೇ ನಂಬುವುದಾದರೆ, ಮೊದಲ ದಿನವೇ ಮೂರು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಓಡಿದರೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ನಷ್ಟ ಮಾಡದು.

ಇನ್ನು ಐದು ವರ್ಷ ಇಂತಹ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಲ್ಲ: ದರ್ಶನ್
ಮುಂದಿನ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಾನು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡೋದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಂತ ಚಾಲೆಂಜಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ದರ್ಶನ್ ಖಡಾಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಾರಣ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್. ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು ಟ್ರೆಂಡ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಆಯಿತೆಂದರೆ ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಾಲು ಸಾಲು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ಆಗ ಅದು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಅನ್ನೋದು ದರ್ಶನ್ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ.

ಮತ್ತೆ 'ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ'ನ ರೀತಿಯ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಬಂದರೆ ಖಂಡಿತಾ ಮಾಡೋದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟೋದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಜನ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬೇಕು. ನಂತರವಷ್ಟೇ ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ದರ್ಶನ್ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ದರ್ಶನ್‌ಗೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 'ವೀರ ಮದಕರಿ' ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಆಫರ್ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಮೊದಲು ಕಥೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿ, ನಂತರ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ. ಅಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನು ಓದುವಷ್ಟು ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಿದ್ದರೂ ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕಂತೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಧ್ವನಿಸಿದರು ದರ್ಶನ್.

ಈಗ 'ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ'ನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರು, ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ್ ಆಭಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸಾರಥಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದ ನಂತರ ಯಾತ್ರೆ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಈ ಬಾರಿಯೂ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಬಳಿ ಹೋಗುವ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಆನಂದ್ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದು ಅವರ ಕಾಳಜಿ.

ಸುಮಾರು 30 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ದರ್ಶನ್, ಜಯಪ್ರದಾ, ಶಶಿಕುಮಾರ್, ಉಮಾಶ್ರೀ, ಅವಿನಾಶ್ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಇನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಲೆಂದೇ ಥಿಯೇಟರಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ತಾನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ದರ್ಶನ್ ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಾನು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಐದು ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಐದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಕೊನೆಯ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಕಣ್ಣಿಂದ ಕೆಲವು ಹನಿ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಾದರು ಹೊರ ಬರಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಕೊನೆಯ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ನಿಜವಾಗದೇ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸೋಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಎಂದು ದರ್ಶನ್ ಭಾವುಕರಾದರು.

ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಅವ್ರು ಬರ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ
ಕ್ರಾಂತಿವೀರ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಸೋಮವಾರ (ನ 5) ನಗರದ ಕಾವೇರಿ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಾಡಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಗಣ್ಯಾತಿಗಣ್ಯರು ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸಂಜೆ ಆರು ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶುರುವಾಗ ಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ಶೋ ರಾತ್ರಿ 7 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ರೆಬೆಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಅಂಬರೀಶ್ ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದು ನಂತರ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಸುದ್ದಿ.
ಅಂಬರೀಶ್ ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವಂತೆ.
ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಆನಂದ್ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ನಾಗಣ್ಣ, ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಬರೆದ ಕೇಶವಾದಿತ್ಯ ಆದರದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಜನರಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಿಂದ ಭೇಷ್ ಅನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಕೂಡಾ ಬಹುಪರಾಕ್ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಯುಗಳ ಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ಇಂತಹ ಗಂಡ ಸಿಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಡ್ಯುಯೆಟ್ ಹಾಡು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
ಯಾರಿಗೂ ನೋವುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ನಮಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಹಾಡಿನಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ, ಕನ್ನಡಪರ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ನೋವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಯಾಚಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಅಂಬರೀಶ್ ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಸುದೀಪ್ ಬಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸುದೀಪ್ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ದರ್ಶನ್ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಮೇತ ಚಿತ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ದ್ವಾರಕೀಶ್, ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ, ಸುಧಾರಾಣಿ, ಸಾ.ರಾ.ಗೋವಿಂದು, ನಾಗತಿಹಳ್ಳಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್, ಹರ್ಷಿಕಾ ಪೂಣಚ್ಚ, ವಿಜಯ್ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ, ಶರಣ್, ಧ್ರುವ್, ಮುರಳಿ, ಶಿವಮಣಿ, ಫಣಿ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಚಿತ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು.

Jayaprada glad with people's response to KVSR
Actor and Member of Parliament Ms. Jayaprada watched the sensational film 'Kranti Veera Sangolli Raayanna' starring Darshan and directed by Naganna on Sunday afternoon. The film's producer Anand Appugol was also present along with Ms. Jayaprada. Jayaprada felt happy about the film and said that she has been relieved now after hearing the news about the film's tremendous response from the public. "I am also glad that the audience and critics have accepted me in the role of Kiththoor Chennamma," said Jayaprada. She said the efforts of producer Anand Appugol, director Naganna, actor Darshan and writer Keshava had paid rich dividends in the form of a stupendous public response to the film.

Earlier participating in a press meet on Saturday night organised for celebrating the success of the film, Jayaprada said she had faced healty competition from Darshan in many sequences of the film. "I used to even fight with director Naganna that I have to get prominence in a sequence mainly because I was the queen. But Naganna managed to convince me and now I have heard people speaking well about my character in the film' added the actress who has eternally remained glamorous from the day she was introduced to the film industry."

No Diwali bash for Sandalwood

Varadanayaka will clash with Drama after the festival season, providing the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna juggernaut a long run

Strangely, there will be no big Sandalwood releases this Diwali. After delaying their release for weeks to avoid the juggernaut of Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KVSR) to roll on, the two other big films of the season are now slated for a head-on clash later this month. The Sudeep-Chiranjeevi Sarja starrer Varadanayaka and Yograj Bhat-directed Drama are both slated for release on November 23, well after the Diwali holidays. KVSR has hit the jackpot at the box office in the opening weekend and is all set for long run in theatres. Both Varadanayaka and Drama had avoided clashing with KVSR and delayed their release. KVSR’s own problem with the Animal Welfare Board of India meant that all big Kannada films lost out the Dasara holidays. However, KVSR will have no big competition in the coming Deepavali holidays as only smaller films are trying their fate.

Drama producer Jayanna said that his film will release on November 23. He said, “We have confirmed Sagar as the main theatre on Kempe Gowda Road. The rest of the theatres are being finalised. The total number of theatres will be restricted to 100.” Varadanayaka producer Shankre Gowda said, “I am planning to release the film on November 23. There is no problem with theatres.” However, both the films are yet to go to the Censor Board.

KVSR is unlikely to affect the theatre set-up for other releases as it had a limited release, given its budget. Jayanna said, “The film released in about 125 theatres in Karnataka and about 25 theatres in Bangalore. Despite being a very big-budget film, the film-makers went for a controlled release. So, other films which want theatres will not be affected.”

Varadanayaka and Drama are unlikely to face any big competition as well. Rajinikantha and Prem Adda, the two other big films in the pipeline, are yet to finalise their release schedules.


KVSR BREAKS RECORDS

Meanwhile, KVSR is creating huge records at the box office. In the first five days, the film is estimated to have grossed more than Rs 6 crore. The film is expected to gross a total of between Rs 9 to Rs 10 crore in the next three-four days. An insider said, “This film’s first week collection will be better than Sarathi, the biggest hit of Darshan's career. In the Hubli area, the film will easily beat the collection record in Sandalwood history. The Hyderabad-Karnataka and Chitradurga areas have also reported strong collections. Though, box-office report in Bangalore and Mysore areas is commendable, it is not as good as in Hubli.”

ಚಾಲೆಂಜಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ದರ್ಶನ್ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವ 'ಕ್ರಾಂತಿವೀರ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯುಗಳ ಗೀತೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾರದ್ದಾದರೂ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೋವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಿರಲಿ - ಹೀಗೆಂದು ರಾಯಣ್ಣನ ಪರಮಭಕ್ತ ಆನಂದ್ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಯಾಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಂತಹದ್ದೊಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಯುಗಳ ಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ರಾಯಣ್ಣನ ಶೌರ್ಯ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಇಂತಹ ಗಂಡ ಸಿಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೆಣ್ಣೊಬ್ಬಳು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಖಿತಾ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಷ್ಟೇ ವಿನಃ ರಾಯಣ್ಣನ ದೇಶಪ್ರೇಮವನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು, ದೇಶಭಕ್ತರು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಯಣ್ಣನ ಆರಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ನೋವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ನಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಯಾರದಾದರೂ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿ. ಕ್ರಾಂತಿವೀರನ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ, ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆ ನಾಡಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಮನೆ-ಮನಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿಸಲು ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಿ.

ಇದು ಕೆಲವು ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಆನಂದ್ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೋಳ್ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಕೇಳಿರುವ ರೀತಿ. ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಆ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ನೈಜ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ತೆಪ್ಪಗಿರಬಹುದೇ ಅನ್ನೋದನ್ನು ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕು.

ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಖಿತಾ ಭಾಗ ಬರುವುದರಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಧಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹಿರಿಯ ನಟಿ ಬಿ. ಸರೋಜಾ ದೇವಿ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಭಾರ್ಗವ, ಕಿಚ್ಚ ಸುದೀಪ್ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಬೇಕೇ ಹೊರತು, ಅನಗತ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ತೊಂದರೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲ. ಇದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಇಡೀ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಇಂತಹ ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಸರೋಜಾದೇವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸುದರ್ಶನ್ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಮೊದಲು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನೋಡಿ ಅನ್ನೋದು ನನ್ನ ಮನವಿ. ಟೀಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಬದಲು, ರಾಯಣ್ಣನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ದರ್ಶನ್ ಅಮೋಘ ನಟನೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಎಂದು ಸುದೀಪ್ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
